From Commerce City to the Nation's Capital - Adams 14 Students are Marching in Remembrance

On Monday, May 25, 2026, Adams 14 students will represent our district and the state of Colorado in the National Memorial Day Parade in Washington, DC.

The parade this year comes during two historic milestones: America’s 250th anniversary and Colorado’s 150th anniversary. The invitation to participate is an honor that reflects Adams 14’s mission to inspire, educate, and empower our students through meaningful, real-world experiences.

This is an opportunity to honor and remember those who served and sacrificed, to prepare our students to lead with purpose, and to carry our community’s values from Commerce City to the Nation’s capital

The From Commerce City to the Nation’s Capital logo tells the story of Adams 14 students carrying the district’s mission and values from their hometown to the nation’s capital. The road represents both the physical journey to Washington, D.C., and the broader path of learning, service, and leadership shaped in Adams 14. The mountain—drawn from the Adams 14 logo—anchors the design in the district’s brand identity, while the American flag connects their local story to this national day of remembrance and gratitude. The two stars signify the 250th anniversary of the United States and the 150th anniversary of Colorado.

The Colorado Remembers logo reflects the honor of Adams County School District 14 being invited to represent the State of Colorado in the National Memorial Day Parade. The Colorado “C” signifies statewide unity and pride, underscoring that this moment extends beyond the district and reflects Colorado as a whole. The mountain, drawn from the Adams 14 logo, grounds the design in the district’s brand identity, while the three stars represent service, sacrifice, and remembrance—core values of Memorial Day.

This opportunity extends far beyond a single event. While in Washington, D.C., Adams 14 students will engage in real-world learning in the nation’s capital—walking through history as they visit national monuments, memorials, and historic sites that bring classroom lessons to life. Students will deepen their understanding of our nation’s past, the meaning of service and sacrifice, and their role as informed, engaged citizens—carrying the values of Adams 14 with them every step of the way.

Support Our Students

Help Our Students Represent Colorado–from Commerce City to the Nation’s Capital

The cost of travel and participation is significant. Community support ensures that every selected student can participate, regardless of their financial circumstances.

Our goal is to raise $300,000. We estimate that $250,000 would cover travel, lodging, and meals. The other $50,000 would cover expenses for instruments, uniforms, flags, banners, baggage fees, and incidentals.
