Lester Arnold High School Class of 2025 Celebrates Graduation Milestone

On May 24, 2025, Lester Arnold High School (LAHS) students took the stage at the Denver Coliseum to celebrate their graduation. LAHS Valedictorian Isaias Lechuga-Medina led his 183 classmates as they stepped forward into their bright futures.

“Seeing students graduate provides a reminder of all the talent and excellence that we have going into our community,” said principal Garrett Douglas from LAHS. “They are ready for the world and have the credentials to show others what we know to be true about them, which is that they are strong, intelligent, and successful.”

During their high school years, approximately 43 students pursued college coursework. Among them was Yulianna Gutiérrez-Vera, who earned both her associate degree and high school diploma in 2025. Additionally, 60 students indicated plans to pursue college or military service after graduation. According to LAHS graduation coordinators, all 183 graduates are currently employed and plan to continue with their current jobs or seek new employment opportunities.

Arturo and Joshua Rentería Zapien received the Adams 14 Education Foundation scholarship to attend the Community College of Aurora.

Like classes before them, the Class of 2025 added to LAHS’ legacy of growth. The number of graduates rose by 21% from 2024 to 2025, and nearly quadrupled since 2023, growing from 35 graduates in 2023 to 183 in 2025. Graduation rates also reflected this upward trend: in 2022, the rate was 29.3%; in 2024, it reached 53.3%.

“The growth rate is a direct reflection of the dedication of our students and staff. Our staff created an environment characterized by flexibility and accountability,” Douglas said. “They welcome students where they are, and push them to expand to their limits to be the best version of themselves. LAHS is proud of all of the accomplishments of its students and the impact that every staff member has had on creating that reality. We wish them all the best in the next phase of their adventure and appreciate the time we got to spend supporting them along the way.”
