The Adams 14 Strategy

Adams 14’s strategy is stated as follows: to improve student achievement so that 80% of students assessed will be on grade level by 2014 by ensuring that each classroom has a dynamic, standards-based teacher who provides powerful 21st century learning experiences to all students.

Because Adams 14 believes in providing the best education for your child, we invited the Comprehensive Appraisal for District Improvement (CADI) team to review our practices in April 2008. During a week long visit, the team interviewed over 200 members of the Adams 14 community, reviewed various District information and data, and visited every school to view learning in our classrooms.

In the final report, the CADI team identified areas of improvement in the categories of Academic Performance, Learning Environment, and Organizational Effectiveness; and they delivered their report to the District on July 31.

From the CADI Report, the District adopted a grassroots approach to developing a new strategic plan. After months of outreach and feedback from staff, parents and community members, the draft plan was released. The three areas of emphasis of the District's academic strategic plan are high quality instruction, effective use of data, and effective collaboration.
