Publications and Reports

Adams 14 seeks to communicate effectively with all stakeholders. To that end, the District employs a variety of communication tools to meet the needs of the community.

Schools send home newsletters and frequent communication updates; the District updates content on its website; the District provides the annual Report to the Community; and recently, Adams 14 began distribution of a public newsletter that will be sent to homes four times annually.

All District level publications will be made available on this website. To request a hard copy of any of our publications, simply contact the Public Relations Office at 303.853.3259 or pio@adams14.org.

connections newsletterFour times a year, parents and students, key communicators and employees will receive Connections, a bilingual newsletter from the District. Through a special partnership, the publication is printed and distributed at no charge to the District.

District Research Reports

In 2008, Adams 14 reviewed local and national evidence relating to the continuous year calendar at Hanson PreK-8 School and Lester Arnold High School. From the executive summary:
Adams 14 administration has extensively reviewed the body of research relating to Continuous Year Calendars and their impact on student achievement. The following conclusions were reached:

  1. While there might be some positive achievement impact cited in prior studies, research does not support that calendar is the direct reason for the positive change in student achievement.
  2. The problems associated with year round/continuous year are greater than any benefits.
  3. The research suggests that year round schooling (Continuous Year Calendar) is ineffective in improving student achievement and creates additional costs for school districts.
