Adams County School District 14 provides health, dental, vision, and life insurances for all classified employees. Employee health insurance costs are paid for by the district up to $297.82/month, and additional family coverage can be purchased at the employee's expense. All other benefits are paid in full for the employee coverage.
Adams County School District 14 is a participant of the Public Employees' Retirement Association. This is a mandatory participation for employees of the district. The employee will contribute 8% of their gross earnings and the district will contribute 10.65%. As participants in PERA, we do not participate in Social Security.
Sick leave is granted by the district to all classified employees at a rate based on the number of contract days per year, not to exceed fourteen (14) days per full contract year. Sick leave is cumulative without limit from year to year and upon retirement from the district after twenty (20) years, the employee is paid $30 per day of accumulated sick leave.
Classified employees are entitled to three (3) personal leave days per year. These days may used for personal family matters, legal matters, etc. These days are charged against an employee's sick days.
Classified employees are entitled to five (5) days of bereavement leave in the event of a death in the immediate family. The first three days shall be at full pay, and the remaining two days will be charged to employee's available sick leave.
